STOCKINETTE STITCH (St st): Any number of sts

Knit RS rows, purl WS rows.

SEED STITCH: Odd number of sts

All rows: P1, * K1, P1; rep from * across.

SLIPPED STITCH CABLE: (Panel of 9 sts)

Preparatory Row (RS): P2, K2 winding the yarn twice around needle for each st, P1, K2 winding the yarn twice around needle for each st, P2.

Row 1 (WS): K2, bring yarn to the front, slip 2 with yarn in front (wyif) letting loops drop, bring yarn to the back, K1, bring yarn to the front, slip 2 wyif letting loops drop, bring yarn to the back, K2.

Rows 2 and 3: Knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they present themselves, and slip the slipped sts of previous row with yarn at the WS of fabric.

Row 4 (Cable cross row): Slip 2 sts to cn and hold in back, K2, then K2 from cn winding the yarn twice around needle for each st, P1, slip 2 sts to cn and hold in front, K2 winding the yarn twice around needle for each st, then K2 from cn.
